How to Open an Account

There are three key steps.

  • Down load relevant application forms
  • Fill them out
  • Submit with the supporting documents.

What documents to down load depends on whether you are an individual or an institution. There are three individual investor categories and 2 institution categories. If you are an individual investor, you would fall into either a domestic investor, foreign investor or a Sri Lankan living abroad (Non resident Sri Lankan). If you are a corporate entity, you may be either a local or a foreign corporate. Refer the chart below for more details.

There are another set of documents to be filled to lodge the share certificates with the CDS before trading those stocks in the stock market.

Central Depository System Has made their forms available in Sinhala and Tamil mediums as well for those who require the translation. But the forms should be filled in English Medium only
